So yes, this is Mac Attack #27 however, this is Mac Attack #1 for little ol’ me. As I mentioned during my First on the First macaron post, my new goal in life is to master the macaron after having some challenges in my first ever attempt. They are such brilliantly wonderful, tasty little bites of bliss. Not to mention they’re too cute for words! So with that, I joined MacTweets where they will provide the inspiration to create a new macaron creation each and every month.
March 20th is Macaron Day so with that, it was decided that the inspiration behind this month’s challenge would be a celebration! Let’s celebrate the macaron in all its glory. In my eyes, nothing says party and celebration like a little bubbly. You know, champagne!
I made for you macarons with a champagne-spiked swiss meringue buttercream and I’m proud to say that this time around, I had success!! Round little domes and feet, glorious ruffled little feet!
But most importantly, they taste fantastic! My husband, Mike scoffed more than one down while singing their praises. And when I brought some to my friend, Mike he said “Wow! These are the best things you’ve ever made!” Coming from a picky eater (my husband) and a friend who doesn’t dole out compliments very often, that is a huge testament to the tastiness of these little chewy cookies. I once again used the recipe from Brave Tart as well as her swiss meringue buttercream to which I added 4 tablespoons of champagne.
Enjoy!
